I woke up early, not super early but around seven in the morning.
I made breakfast because my daughter has school.
Afterwards, I cleaned and tidied up the house.
I worked for about two hours in the morning teaching Spanish, finished classes, and cooked lunch. After cooking, I had lunch with my family.
[With respect to food]
Every day is different, but yesterday I made coffee, avocado toast, and fruit salad with papaya and apple. I like coffee with avocado toast. For lunch, I made white rice, lentils with steak, and salad – a very large plate. Afterwards, we drank celery tea because it’s good for the stomach. In the evening, we only had rice with a bit of steak and a bit of the lentils. That’s very typical here in Peru; I make a lot for lunch, and we eat the same for dinner. Then, we had coffee with pan con queso.
I like lentils, but my husband doesn’t. My son likes them, but my daughter doesn’t. Generally, my son and I have similar tastes, and my husband and daughter have similar tastes – we’re opposites.
After lunch, I taught more classes for about three hours.
After working, I rested for half an hour. There’s a lot of work in the house; I listened to music on Youtube.
I reheated the food, and we had dinner together as a family.
I also prepared food for my pets. I forgot to mention this part, but I give them breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I have two cats, an adopted cat, and two dogs.
After dinner, I washed the dishes.
I watched TV for about an hour and worked on the computer for about an hour.
Yesterday I didn’t watch a movie; I just listened to the news because a report about an earthquake in Taiwan caught my attention. It was very sad because they showed videos from the moment the earthquake happened, and it was terrible. Normally, we always watch movies.
I exercised for 20 minutes before going to bed.
Last night I went to bed late; I went to bed at midnight.
Nowadays, it’s almost the same every day because I have virtual classes. I spend more time at home and don’t go out much. Sometimes it’s not good; before, I worked at the school so I used to go out more often. Now I need to work and also work at home so I have to organize my time.
You can find Merly in Cusco, Peru, enjoying movies with her husband and kids (and with popcorn and Coca-Cola).
She would like people to treat their pets and all animals better.
Many times, people think animals are just animals and that they don’t have feelings, and that’s not true. They are living beings that feel and suffer a lot, especially when they don’t have a family and live on the streets exposed to many dangers (like being run over) and mistreatment by people. I wish people were more aware of their actions towards these little animals.
